Steve Price has been a fulltime writer and photographer since 1973, specializing in outdoor recreation, nature photography, and travel. He is known for his writing in the freshwater fishing industry and his work as a Senior Writer with Bassmaster Magazine and as a Contributing Editor for Field & Stream, but throughout his career he has written more than 3,500 magazine articles for dozens of publications on all phases of the outdoors. He has also written 15 books, several video scripts, and hundreds of newspaper and Internet features. One of his books, Valley of the Big Cats, received international acclaim and sold out in seven months, and another of his books, The Fish That Changed America, has been described as one of the best bass fishing books ever written. His photography has won numerous national and international awards, and been used around the world by such organizations as the National Geographic Society, Yamaha Motor Corporation, Ford Motor Company, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and others. He has traveled widely throughout the world, and was inducted into the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame in 2010. A native of Texas and a former resident of northwestern Wyoming, he currently lives in the mountains between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico.
